I hope that this letter finds you well. I am writing to inform you that I have decided to relocate to the warmer climate of central Texas. I plan to return to the Albany area periodically to see clients who are interested in continuing their care with me. Or, if you would like a referral, I will be happy to provide a list of qualified practitioners in the Albany area.

As you know my practice includes Emotional Freedom Technique, Energy Medicine, Stress management, Reiki sessions and workshops, Abundance workshops and much more. I am proud to announce that in January 2008, I received my Emotional Freedom Technique 2nd Level Certification. Additionally, I attended several specialized trainings to assist my clients in addressing issues of weight loss, fears, phobias, anger, grief, addictions, and releasing blocks to manifesting abundance. I would be happy to work with you via phone on these areas. Many of my clients have already benefited from EFT, but if you have not heard of it or experienced it before, I have included a brief description of EFT below.

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is a unique form of “psychological acupuncture” that uses the ancient Chinese meridian system to relieve psychological stress and physiological pain. EFT balances the energy system with a tapping procedure which stimulates designated meridian endpoints on the face and body. Restoring the balance of the energy system neutralizes emotional conflicts at their source, which then allows the body and mind to resume their natural healing abilities. EFT is safe, easy to apply, and is non-invasive.

Designed by Gary Craig, a personal performance coach in California, EFT belongs to a new class of treatments referred to as Energy Psychology. Gary has dedicated his work and life to teaching people how to overcome emotional and physical blocks to success and has been emotionally, spiritually and financially generous with his discoveries. EFT is one of the most effective, efficient, gentle treatment techniques I have come across.

Gary neatly summarized in a recent article on his web site, all scientists agree that the body is an "energy configuration" made up of positive and negative electrical charges in the form of atoms, the basic "building blocks of all matter." Einstein informed modern scientists that all matter lies somewhere on the same energy continuum. This was captured in his famous Theory of Relativity which states E=MC². If we view the human body as an energy configuration rather than separate organs, parts and equations of chemicals, we will understand why and how EFT works. Reiki is an ancient healing art, using Universal Life Force energy that facilitates well being on all levels: Physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Reiki reduces stress and promotes healing. It is simple, natural and safe. It has proven effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady. It also helps heal the emotional and psychological components of disease and creates peace of mind. Reiki works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery. Its non-invasive nature based on human touch always creates a beneficial effect.

Experience for yourself how Reiki:

Reiki is a very simple technique to learn. It is not taught in the way that other healing techniques are taught. The ability to use Reiki is simply transferred to the student by the Reiki Master during an "Attunement" process. This allows the student to immediately tap into an unlimited supply of "life energy". The attunement process opens the crown, heart and palm chakras in a special way that creates a link between the student and the Reiki source. Because of this, virtually anyone can learn Reiki with no prior experience. The student is then given instruction and practice time in administering Reiki to others and to oneself.

In class you will learn about the history of Reiki and how its use can empower, and allow the body's natural healing abilities to manifest. In Level One you will receive an attunement to open you to bring this energy through and transfer it to yourself and others. In Level Two we add a new dimension to your Reiki practice-that of distance healing! You will also have ample class time to practice your Reiki Skills.

Requirements for Level I & II Certification: Have an open mind and a willingness to share in a group setting. At the completion of the course you will be required to complete at least five (5) Reiki sessions and submit a short essay as to why you want to become a certified Reiki Practitioner and discuss your experience of working with the Reiki energy during your sessions. Upon completion of the program, five (5) sessions and your essay, your Reiki certificate will be mailed to you.

The Meaning of Karuna

Karuna is a Sanskrit word and is used in Hinduism and Buddhism. It is translated to mean any action that is taken to diminish the suffering of others and could also be translated as "compassionate action." When individuals experience enlightenment, they report that all beings are known as one. Therefore, it is natural to extend compassionate action or Karuna to everyone without distinction because we are all one. As we help others and aid them in their healing process, all beings benefit. Because of the oneness of all beings, it is understood that Karuna is not only extended to others out of love, but also because it is an entirely logical thing to do. In the same way that you would want to heal your own wounds, you would also want the wounds of others to heal. It is also stated in the Buddhist literature that Karuna must be accompanied by prajna or wisdom in order to have the right effect.

Karuna is the motivating quality of all enlightened beings who are working to end suffering on Earth. They continually send an unlimited amount of healing energy and guidance to us, but not all are receptive to it. As you develop Karuna in yourself, not only are you helping others, but you also become more receptive to the Karuna that is being sent by all enlightened beings. Thus your healing is quickened as well.

Karuna Reiki® opens you to work more closely with all enlightened beings. This includes those enlightened ones who are physically present as well as those in spirit.

This class is for anyone who has had Reiki Master training. It is complete with two levels, two attunements, four master symbols and eight treatment symbols. We have experimented with and taught this system for five years and have found it to be effective and powerful. In fact, most students find it more powerful than Usui Reiki! The energy has a more definite feeling to it. It works on the emotional and spiritual levels and also can help one become more grounded. Those who receive the attunements report experiences with their guides, angels, and higher self and feel the healing presence of other enlightened beings.

A brief description of the four Karuna I symbols is given here: The first symbol prepares the client for deep healing and is useful with past life issues. It helps release karma and deeply seated issues on the cellular level. The second symbol heals deeply and can be used to breakup the negative patterns we unconsciously use to insulate ourselves from the truth, thus shattering delusion and denial. It heals the shadow self. The third symbol fills the person with love and restores balance. The fourth symbol completes the treatment by bringing the client back into the body and grounding. The Karuna II symbols are of a higher vibration and more powerful. They help connect directly with the Higher Self and work on a deeper level. While they have specific purposes discussed in class, the experience of their energy allows intuitive guidance in their use.

Both levels of Karuna Reiki® and both attunements will be given as well as instruction and practice on the use of all twelve symbols. You will be able to practice all four levels of Karuna Reiki®, two practitioner levels and two master levels after taking this class.

Lots of practice time is included for giving treatments, using the symbols and for learning the attunement processes.

We will also be doing a Reiki meditation to be aware of and heal the Shadow Self and using chanting and toning with Karuna Reiki®.
