Tai Chi and Qigong
Definition
Qigong (Chee Gung or Chee Koong) and Tai Chi Ch’uan (Ty Chee or Taiji Quan) are ancient practices of breathing, stretching, and slow moving meditative postures that flow from one form to another. Both have been known by many different names throughout Chinese history with the current definitions being quite recent. Qigong is generally considered the more ancient system and many of its teachings are incorporated within Tai Chi. The postures of both practices appear simple, but are quite precise. Many of the movements have been paralleled after the movements of animals.
Controlled but non-randomized studies in China have reported potential benefits in survival, reduction of treatment side effects, and improvement in general health for patients with cancer and other health problems.
Class fees are payable directly to the instructor in advance and in full.

Tai Chi, the ancient Chinese
art of meditation in motion, promotes mental,
emotional and physical healing by combining
movement, meditation, relaxation and self-defense.
It is reputed to be of therapeutic value
for high blood pressure, heart disease,
and lung disease. People of all ages and
physical abilities practice this form of
exercise. It requires no equipment and
very little space. Each movement is performed
slowly to improve balance, flexibility,
concentration, and muscle control.
QiGong
is the ancient Chinese art of healing, and uses
breath and movement to regulate natural body energy.
Through a series of relaxed arm and body movements
and a standing meditation, QiGong gathers healing
energy from the universe, bringing it into your
bodies to promote healing.
